The trailer of Eros International and NextGen Films' action entertainer R...Rajkumar created a splash as soon as it launched, creating a frenzy on the social media front ,treating audiences to aShahid Kapoor like never before, presented in signature Prabhu Deva style.

Talking about why he approached the Gen-X actor for the out-and-out action, masala entertainer, says Prabhu Deva, " It's hard to explain, when you see the film you will know that Shahid fits the role perfectly R...Rajkumar needed an actor who was never seen in an full-fledged action avatar before and Shahid was perfect to essay the character".

Talking about what sets R...Rajkumar apart from his other masala potboilers adds the director, "My films have love, dance, romance, drama, comedy — and we Indians love seeing these emotions on screen. Yes, R...Rajkumar is a romantic film with action like the others, but the way it is presented makes it different".

Shahid escapes serious injury in fire ..when he was on r..rajkumar set

Actor Shahid Kapoor, who has been shooting hardcore action sequences for Prabhudheva’s Rambo Rajkumar, managed to escape a serious injury.

It happened Friday when the 32-year-old was shooting at Kamalistan Studio for a scene where he has to enter a burning house. He finished his shot and was stepping out of the burning house, when some hot chemical solution dripped on to his back and arms.

"The fire is created artificially through a chemical solution... The solution fell on his back and forearms. The solution was hot and it immediately burnt holes in Shahid's t-shirt. He half sprinted while removing his t-shirt,” said a source.

The actor has got some burn marks. He later visited a dermatologist to ensure the wounds heal quickly.

Shahid sports stubble for R.... Rajkumar

What is the secret behind Shahid Kapoor's stubbled look? It's for his next film R... Rajkumar, said a source.

"He has been sporting stubble these days. A stubble is giving Shahid an edgier and rougher look. It is sort of adding to his persona and he even expressed that he likes wearing stubble. He will be sporting this rustic look in Rambo Rajkumar," said the source.

The lead actor of films like Jab We Met and Kaminey, Shahid is being directed by Prabhudheva in Rambo Rajkumar.

Meanwhile, Shahid's stylist Kunal Rawal got so impressed with the actor's new look that the designer asked him to walk the ramp for him at the ongoing Lakme India Fashion Week.

The 32-year-old worked extra hours to wrap up his shoot in Cape Town to attend the fashion show Sunday.

Actor Shahid Kapoor is soaking in the sun to get a tanned look for his upcoming movie R... Rajkumar.

Even though he has donned a chocolate boy look in movies like Ishq Vishk, Vivaah and Kismat Konnection, it was his chiselled body and rugged look for the character of Charlie in 2009 movie Kaminey that created a lot of buzz.

This time the 32-year-old has got skin colour three shades darker than his original so that his look is in perfect sync with the character.

He has also got a stubble look, which is giving him a perfect biker boy image.

"Shahid never sported a stubble and thus his look has been appreciated by many. In fact, he has started liking the look himself now. Wherever he is going, people are giving him compliments on his look," a source said.

It’s been a long time since Shahid has delivered a hit and the actor seems to be working himself to the bone to make his next film 'Rambo Rajkumar' a success.Rumour has it the actor will revive his 'Kaminey' look for the movie (remember him racing with several white horses?) and is going through rigorous training to look the part. His director, Prabhudeva, instructed Shahid to look raw but not overly chiseled; there will be no six-pack abs for the actor. Apparently, since 'Rambo Rajkumar' is being shot in Wai, the makers could not find Sasha a suitable gym. To ensure that the actor would be able to work out, they converted the wedding halls and conference rooms of the local hotels in the area into makeshift gyms! The next challenge that Sasha faced was the fact that he is vegetarian. To ensure that he ingested the right amount of nutrients for his look, he was made to survive on daal-chawal (brown rice specifically) for a very long time! It definitely looks like Shahid is going all out to make his movie a success and is even working out when he isn't required to!
